When only a subtle touch is needed

Have you recently begun to notice small signs of aging but don't want a major surgical procedure? Consider the microlift. A microlift adds a little lift in the cheek, brow, and jawline, producing an effect similar to what one's face looks when the hair is pulled back into a ponytail. The microlift was designed for patients who show slight wrinkling or sagging and only need a minor correction. A microlift in New Orleans with Dr. Miller requires just a few days of downtime and is less costly than other types of facelifts.

What is the MicroLift Procedure Like?

A microlift takes around 1 hour and can be performed under local anesthesia while the patient is awake. The patient is kept completely comfortable during the procedure, though sedation is available for those who prefer it.

After the local anesthesia is administered, Dr. Miller makes small, beveled incisions behind the hairline near the ear on both sides of the head. Then, Dr. Miller delicately repositions the deeper facial tissue before trimming excess skin as needed. Finally, the incisions are closed with sutures.

How Long is Recovery?

One of the benefits of a microlift is that downtime is only a few days. In fact, most patients return to regular activity in 3-5 days. Bruising and swelling are to be expected but are typically non- existent or minor, as is temporary numbness or tightness in the face. This should all subside in a week or so. There is minimal scarring and pain associated with this procedure.

After a few days, Dr. Miller will remove the sutures. Your beautiful refreshed look will be visible immediately after the procedure, though the final results become apparent in 2-4 weeks. Dr. Miller will schedule follow-up appointments to make sure healing is progressing well.

Small procedure, impactful results

Though a microlift in New Orleans is a subtle procedure, results can last up to several years (full facelift results last up to twenty years). The beauty of the microlift is that slight adjustments can very effectively produce a more youthful appearance and a significant reduction in incipient wrinkling. Microlifts smooth fine lines, highlight the cheekbones, and lightly lift the eyes at their edges; the end result is a brighter, more attractive appearance.

Is a microlift right for me?

If you don't show advanced stages of aging, you don't need a complete correction and a microlift could be appropriate for you. Because it is a relatively quick procedure with little downtime, a microlift is perfect for the busy patient who can't afford to take much time away from their lives. It is also perfect for those who would like a permanent correction instead of relying on repeated fillers. Ultimately, a microlift is for those who desire a subtly younger look, or who only need small tweaks to reach aesthetic goals.
